The purpose of this position is to provide support to the Head of Membership Communication Strategy. Unlike a typical marketing professional, whose aim is ultimately to generate revenue, the bottom line of the Communication Executive is to engage various online audiences in the business and investment communities focusing on the Middle East.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Communication

    * Develop clear online communication campaigns targeting specific professional communities (e.g. construction, oil and gas, technology, telecoms etc.) which aim to increase the overall engagement of such communities, in terms of using and interacting with our membership services
    * Assist with writing press releases, designing online campaigns, attending key conferences, as well as developing relationships with the media are key skills required to effectively perform this role.
    * Preparing audience specific material with the help of Zawya Heads of Community, taking rather complex themes and presenting them in easy/simple language
    * The candidate must be able to grasp company themes, identify their value proposition, and properly communicate them to a targeted audience

Creativity

    * Creativity is key element as identifying new ways to engage members will be a prime element of the role
    * Devise with new ways to engage our online business and investment communities (for example by utilizing New Media tools such as twitter, facebook, linkedin, etc)

Research

    * Help the community drivers in preparing surveys, conducting marketing research to identify and validate whether the communities / audiences have specific needs or problems for which ZAWYA could provide innovative winning solutions

Organisation

    * Handle multiple projects at the same time and meet internal client deadlines and expectations

REQUIREMENTS:

    * The candidate must have a strong proficiency in the English language, in both written and oral form; the same for Arabic is a much added bonus
    * University/college degree or equivalent is well regarded
    * Cross-cultural sensitivity and ability to work in a multi-national environment
    * Strong computer skills, with attention to detail and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point

This is a new role and as such requires someone who is adaptable, and has the ability to use their initiative and problem-solving skills.
