Has authority to approve document and endorse records and certificates that attest to the acceptability of inspected items.

Job Summary

Providing a quality control civil function during the execution of MMG contract and project requirements. Each inspector is responsible for reporting and recording the results of all examinations and maintaining appropriate records.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
• Complete reviews and inspections within assigned discipline as allocated by his quality supervisor in accordance with quality plan and associated procedures.
• Record and endorse reports of inspection and test witness and compile scope files to identify inspection status.
• Report on defective work and non conformities; assist in identifying root causes of problems and the resolution and clearance of reported problems.
• Provide on site quality training and awareness to supervision and artisans.
• Monitor the effective implementation of procedures in accordance with Quality Assurance Manuals and Quality Plans.
• Complete verification as required on personnel qualifications and the correct application of requirements for training and testing.
• Monitor the effective application and utilization of tools and equipment.
• Monitor requirements for storage and preservation of materials and equipment.
• Ensure any requirements for tools and equipment calibrations are efficiently and practically implemented.
• Generates all civil reports required by the QA/QC Department, project or location.
• Assist in the overall improvement of operating systems and the quality system.

Qualifications & Experience

Education:

Certified Civil Engineer or Technical college attendance and certified achievement in civil works and building structures or recognized technician status.
Inspector shall be a High School graduate (mandatory), he shall be able to read, write and speak English Language; shall be fully conversant with applicable Industry Standards and Specifications; and shall perform a variety of inspection functions with minimal supervision.
Note: Having previous approval from Sabic / Saudi Aramco (Letter or SAP#) is preferable.

Professional:

Technical quality control training (Recorded/Documented) membership of a recognized civil engineering institute fully conversant with industry standards and specifications with a strong capability to read and interpret civil drawings and regulations.

Experience:

Personnel employed by MMG to perform the work described in our contracts shall meet, as a minimum, the following years of relevant experience.
At least 5 years construction site experience in civil discipline activities with three (3) years mandatory documented inspection experience exposure to covering civil ground works and two (2) years mandatory documented inspection exposure to covering civil works in contract scope of work (e.g. oil, gas and petrochemical project, infrastructure and communication).
The inspector shall demonstrate a thorough working knowledge of recognized building codes such as the Uniform Building Code (UBC) or equivalent standards preferably associated with Petro-carbon / Petro-chemical and utility plant construction
As applicable for the work, he shall demonstrate thorough knowledge and proven ability in construction techniques with emphasis on soil mechanics, foundations, retaining walls, structural steel, masonry, building interiors, building finishes, roof systems, and asphalt.

Others:

a) An all round understanding of quality assurance principles preferably in accordance with ISO 9001 -2008.
b) An in depth knowledge of documentation records and certification requirements for quality systems compliance.
c) Personal integrity with a tolerant and understanding nature. Exhibiting a high degree of pride and dedication.
